10月份趁citi checking $450 bonus开了账户,转进6000刀后,因为想把钱push(划重点,后知后觉push钱和zelle在shiti都是高危行为)出来收到shiti关户通知:
“…We periodically review customer accounts and assess account activity. Based on a recent review of your REGULAR CHECKING account, we found that you have violated the terms of your account per the client manual.”
实际上我非常确定自己没违反任何terms。看了坛友的dp发现这就是shiti关户的模版,说你违反了就是违反了。而且所有dp都表明shiti基本不可能改变关户决定。
那要解决的问题就很简单了,就是如何拿回钱。有效dp有两种,一是去branch,让banker给citi的fraud team打电话,有概率branch会同意把钱给你;但是因为这种情况branch要承担一定风险,所以不一定行的通。如果决定用这个办法,建议google搜家附近评分较高的branch。
另一种方法是电话联系Citi executive team 605-331-1698。此team base US且对CEO office负责。这是唯一管用的部门,但也需要来回扯皮。不建议联系shiti其他客服包括fraud team,只会给自己添堵。
本着最大程度节省时间和精力的原则,我决定直接向CFPB投诉。其实提交给CFPB的投诉也是上文的Citi executive team接手处理,但是可以省去不必要的中间环节。CFPB的数据库显示去年一年shiti平均每天收到20起投诉,大部分是信用卡和transaction,checking账户的投诉只占很小部分。合理推断提交到CFPB的case会引起一定重视。
花了几分钟注册了CFPB账户并填写了complaint:
On xx date, I opened a Citi Regular Checking account because Citi Bank offers $450 welcome bonus for new customers. I funded the account for $xx on xx date (from my personal checking account at xx Bank) to fulfill the requirements to receive the welcome bonus. However, when I tried to transfer $xx back to the same checking account at xx Bank on xx date, Citi Bank claimed that I violated the client manual and would close my account. My $xx was withhold by Citi Bank and the $450 bonus was neither received.
和诉求:
- Citi Bank reopens my Citi Regular Checking account or provides evidence that I violated the client manual.
- Citi Bank returns my $xx immediately.
- Citi Bank pays the $450 welcome bonus, since I have fulfilled the requirements to receive the bonus.
第一条其实我没报什么希望能重开账户。但你shiti非要嘴贱说我违反了terms,那请拿出证据来。后面两条就是要回我的钱+bonus。
提交后耐心等待15天(shiti一定会拖到最后一刻才回复),收到executive team email回复:关户是citi的权力(意料之中);会在7-10天内把存款+450刀bunus寄支票到我家。
基本算是实现了我的诉求。论坛有其他dp显示找律师还可额外得一笔关户赔偿(每个被关账户都有),但要额外付出一定精力。另外其实CFPB的数据库有大量投诉案例,有空可以单独出一集shiti奇葩行为大赏了。
