- 1年内：跟着下一年NG投应该有机会？
- 1年以上：感觉很难？

edit：补充说明一下，是quant roles不是quant firms 
quant [researcher, analyst, trader, strategiest, etc.] 都算，但是不考虑SDE。

为啥想要转quant 我以为都是quant 想转tech

如题，Quant想去Tech非常容易，反之则比较困难。想了解一下除了刚毕业和已经升manager这两种特殊情况外，转Quant的window都有哪些。
刚好今天看到个4年工作经验想转quant的，评论都在劝退

quant集中在美东
tech东西都有
除非一直想住在美东，否则想不通为什么转tech
而且quant显而易见的种族歧视更严重，culture更差，小黄人去不知道有什么好处

quant去tech容易？
You are already amongst the highest earning people on the planet. There will be no further satisfaction waiting for you on the other side of that question.
Start baking bread, take your friends out for dinner, start a family, get really good at bird watching, whatever. Nothing you’re looking for will be answered with more money, no validation you’re looking for is going to wait for you at 2s or wherever.

4yoe拿500TC属于outlier了吧。对大多数刚毕业的人，头部Quant在前5年工资都是Tech两倍以上。

他是phd又股价低的时候进去还是可以的吧
tech容易摸鱼，quant基本摸不了
论hourly pay没啥区别

quant有没有内部做乱七八糟internal tool/dashboard的

为啥想不开
文艺复兴也是quant，amex 风控也是quant
要是能有做到pm overseeing a sizable position 的能力
想在tech做到principal / distinguished researcher 也不是难事
想quit quant的理由可以有很多 想进quant的理由不能只看前几年tc
如果你喜欢安静闲适自由自在的生活 不喜欢wynn现金桌那种表面风平浪静实则波涛汹涌人人脉搏150的scenario as your daily life 那这个行当不适合 进了也痛苦

因为同样的data analysis skill在tech PM 岗位可能赚500K就欢天喜地但是在Quant PM轻松上米？

你咋不说我头像曾经一周赚了12 billion 蒂姆库克一辈子赚的钱加起来然后复利compound都没有他那周一天赚的多呢
if you can live comfortably doing fin, you can probably live comfortably doing tech as well
呃 你没有好的track record 想跳槽都没人要 只能去amex rat
隔壁之前不就有个苦于没有track record的哥们么

那你没见过去掉成本之后，一年整个 desk 只赚了 $500 的 quant PM？
不知道PM怎么样，毕竟差不多算是自己own了一个team了钱还真可能亏到自己头上，但是水平差不多的QR光Base应该就有500K team亏钱也无所谓吧，garden leave完还是一条好汉。
